Frequently Asked Questions

Can anyone join a D Group?

Yes! As you consider whether or not you would like to join a D Group, consider if the following traits are true about you in this season of your life:

  • Faithful (regular church attendee/committed to what you know)
  • Available (scheduling-wise able to commit to the process)
  • Intentional (about your spiritual growth)
  • Teachable (willing to learn with humility)
  • Hungry (for growth in your discipleship to Jesus)

What would be expected of me as a group member?

• Give yourself fully to the Lord during this time as you anticipate a season of accelerated spiritual transformation.

• Commit to the group and consider how you may best spur others on in their relationship with Jesus.

• Meet weekly with your Discipleship Group (60-90 minutes). When unable, you will stay involved through sharing H.E.A.R. Journals and prayer requests.

• Commit to the four weekly disciplines: Bible Engagement, Scripture Memory, Accountability, and Prayer.

• Contribute to a group atmosphere of confidentiality, honesty, and transparency.

• Pray every week for the other members of your Discipleship Group and those in my life who don’t know Jesus.

• Pray and look for others in your life who I can invite into a new Discipleship Group when your current group decides to multiply

What schedule does a typical group follow?

While all D Groups will look different, a typical schedule will look something like this:

  • Fellowship: 10 minutes
  • Scripture Memory: 5-10 minutes
  • Bible Reading and H.E.A.R. Journals : 25-35 minutes
  • Accountability: 10-25 minutes
  • Prayer: 10 minutes

When and where do groups meet?

Each group has its own regular meeting day, time, and location, and groups meet at various times and places throughout the week. Once you fill out the interest form, we will coordinate with you and the group leaders to place you in a group that fits your availability.

Are groups separated by gender, age, or life stage?

Groups are separated by gender, but age and life stages will vary amongst the groups.

What is a H.E.A.R. Journal?

H.E.A.R. Journals are one of the four key elements of D Groups. It is simply a way of journaling each day.

  • Highlight what stands out to you.
  • Explain what the scripture is saying.
  • Apply it to your life personally.
  • Respond with prayer or action steps.
